The stage is set for a riveting T20 International series between Bangladesh Women and India Women, commencing on April 28. All eyes will be on the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, the battleground where these two cricketing powerhouses will lock horns once again.

In their previous encounter, India emerged victorious in the three-match T20 series, clinching it 2-1. However, the One-Day International series concluded in a deadlock, with both teams winning one match apiece and the final game ending in a dramatic tie.

Nonetheless, the tour was not without its controversies, as India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, sparked a heated exchange by expressing her dissatisfaction with the umpiring decisions. Bangladesh’s skipper, Nigar Sultana, responded firmly, calling for better sportsmanship from her counterpart.

As the anticipation mounts for the upcoming series, all eyes will be on star player Smriti Mandhana, fresh off her triumph with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Mandhana’s performance will be crucial, particularly in the absence of Jemimah Rodrigues, adding pressure on her to deliver stellar performances on the field.

Adding to the excitement are the debutants Sajeevan Sajana and Asha Sobhana, who will be eager to make their mark on the international stage. Among the players to watch out for in the Bangladesh squad are Murshida Khatun, along with all-rounders Fahima Khatun and Rumana Ahmed, who possess the skills to sway the course of the game with their batting and bowling prowess.
