Prior to his CSK dominance, Jadeja donned the jerseys of the Rajasthan Royals (2008-2009), Kochi Tuskers Kerala (2011), and Gujarat Lions (2016-2017). Notably, his CSK journey spans ten seasons, interrupted only by a one-year ban in 2010. His remarkable contributions have reportedly garnered him a cumulative IPL earning of a staggering ₹1,250,100,000.

Analyzing Ravindra Jadeja’s IPL salary evolution since debut

1. IPL 2008 – Rajasthan Royals: Jadeja’s IPL journey began in the league’s inaugural season with the RR. They secured him in his debut season for a salary of ₹12 lakh. Notably, RR emerged as champions of IPL 2008, and Jadeja remained an integral part of the team in the subsequent season.

2. IPL 2009 – Rajasthan Royals: Despite no change in his IPL salary, this season marked the end of Jadeja’s stint with the Rajasthan Royals. He earned INR 12 lakh for his second and last season with the team.

3. IPL 2011 – Kochi Tuskers Kerala: Following his IPL ban in 2010, Jadeja’s salary saw a significant increase. He secured a lucrative contract worth ₹4.37 crore in the fourth season. However, it’s important to note that the franchise he played for during this season was discontinued ahead of the 2012 IPL.

4. IPL 2012 and IPL 2013 – Chennai Super Kings: Jadeja’s IPL career flourished after the 2011 season. His value skyrocketed, reflected in his salary for the 2012 and 2013 seasons, where he commanded a significant sum of INR 9.2 crore for both the fifth and sixth editions of the IPL.

5. IPL 2014 and IPL 2015 – Chennai Super Kings: Following a dip in form during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Jadeja’s IPL salary saw a readjustment. He received INR 5.5 crore for both the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

6. IPL 2016 – Gujarat Lions: Following the Chennai Super Kings’ suspension from the IPL, Jadeja was picked up by the Gujarat Lions. His salary remained consistent with his previous two seasons at INR 5.5 crore.

7. IPL 2017 – Gujarat Lions: Jadeja’s stellar performance in IPL 2016 significantly boosted his value in the league. This was reflected in a substantial increase of INR 4 crore for his IPL salary in the 2017 season, bringing it to a total of INR 9.5 crore.

8. IPL 2018, IPL 2019, IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 – Chennai Super Kings: CSK’s return to the IPL in 2018 saw them reacquire Ravindra Jadeja for a sum of INR 7 crore. Notably, Jadeja’s salary remained consistent throughout the following seasons until 2021, a period that coincided with some of his best performances in the IPL.

9. IPL 2022, IPL 2023 and IPL 2024 – The Chennai Super Kings: CSK prioritized  Jadeja’s retention during the IPL 2022 mega auction, securing his services for a hefty INR 16 crore. This move also saw a leadership shift, with MS Dhoni handing over the captaincy to Jadeja. However, Jadeja later relinquished the captaincy and Dhoni resumed the role.

Jadeja’s IPL career has been largely defined by his success with the CSK. Across his ten seasons with the franchise, he has established himself as a vital cog in their playing XI, consistently delivering brilliant performances.
