Notably, the ambiance at the stadium soared to unparalleled heights as Dhoni graced the field during that match. Fans erupted into thunderous applause and chants, warmly embracing the former CSK skipper as he strode to the crease. Amidst the uproarious fervor of the crowd, Russell was captured on camera, visibly covering his ears with his hands.
Subsequent to the match, the 35-year-old Russell took to his Instagram account to share a story. Alongside a photo featuring himself and Dhoni, he bestowed the title of ‘the most adorable cricketer in the world’ upon the veteran wicketkeeper-batter.
In his post, Russell wrote, ‘I think this man is easily the most liked cricketer in the world.’

KKR face their first defeat of IPL 2024
Speaking about the game, KKR set a target of 137/9 after being put in to bat first. Sunil Narine‘s knock of 27 and Angkrish Raghuvanshi‘s contribution of 24 proved valuable with the bat. Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the standout bowler for CSK, claiming three wickets while conceding just 18 runs in his allotted 4 overs.
In reply, CSK successfully chased down the modest target within 17.4 overs. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad rediscovered his form and played a stellar innings, crafting an unbeaten half-century with 67 runs off 58 deliveries.
