IPL 2024: KL Rahul indulges in a hilarious banter with social media influencer Shubham Gaur; video goes viral
LSG share a funny video KL Rahul and Shubham Gaur on Social Media, IPL 2024

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), in a display of sheer dominance, overpowered Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last match on Sunday. They successfully defended a target of 163, marking their 13th consecutive victory while defending a score of 160 plus. This remarkable winning streak is a testament to their unwavering performance and strategic gameplay.

The KL Rahul-led LSG claimed a convincing win by 33 runs against GT in Ekana Stadium in the 21st match of IPL 2024. In this match, LSG bowlers dominated GT batters and restricted them to a total of 130 in 18.5 overs.

The impressive second innings of LSG included magical spells of Krunal Pandya (4-0-11-3) and Yash Thakur (3.5-1-30-5). While celebrating this major feat, LSG posted a funny video praising Rahul’s captaincy in an unusual way.

Should KL Rahul be the Defence Minister of India?

LSG took to social media to share a hilarious video featuring influencer Shubham Gaur and LSG captain Rahul. In the video, Shubham comes toward Rahul and says, “I think that you (KL Rahul) should be the defence minister of India?” responding to it, Rahul says, “Ab tu bhi mere strike rate ka mazak udayega?” (“Now even you will make fun of my strike rate?”). Following which, Shubham clarified that he didn’t intend to make fun of the batter; instead, he congratulated him for leading his team to victory in defending a 160-plus score for the thirteenth time.

Rahul’s concerning form

While the video posted by LSG was just a joke, it is important to address the current performance of LSG skipper and opening batter Rahul. The 31-year-old has not been able to make a significant impact with the bat in this year’s IPL season, scoring 126 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 128, which is not considered very good in T20s. Notably, Rahul played a slow innings of 33 runs in 31 balls against Gujarat in the last match of Lucknow. Both the fans and the LSG management would want Rahul to work on his low form and make a strong comeback in future matches.
