The 2024 IPL campaign of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hit a rough patch as they fell to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), losing their second match in a row. In the match against SRH in Hyderabad, the batting lineup of CSK faltered, with only Shivam Dube showing some spark. The visitors could only muster a modest 165 runs on the board after losing five wickets in 20 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the contrary, emerged with a blazing start in response. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head unleashed havoc on the CSK bowling attack, etching their names in the record books. Their partnership produced the fastest team fifty in IPL history by achieving this feat in a staggering 3.3 overs! This dominant display paved the way for a convincing win for SRH in 18.1 overs.

While it was anticipated that this humiliating defeat would flood the internet with fans’ reactions, a different moment of the game seized fans’ attention, leading to the widespread trolling of star CSK pacer Deepak Chahar. This viral incident unfolded when Chahar made an attempt to run out SRH batter Aiden Markram at the non-striker’s end, sparking a wave of trolls.

Fans troll Deepak Chahar

When Deepak Chahar came to bowl the fifth over of the second innings, he was seen attempting to run out South African batter Markram at the non-striker’s end. However, Chahar’s plans were foiled, as Markram managed to survive by remaining at his crease. This incident amused the fans, who started to make fun of Chahar on the internet.

Pat Cummins silences the crowd again

SRH captain Pat Cummins repeated the 2023 ODI World Cup final scenario by making the entire crowd go silent. The stadium, as usual, became entirely yellow with the presence of huge CSK fans. With Chennai’s defeat, the fans’ disappointment could easily be sensed in the air, as there was not much cheering and shouting of fans in the end.
