CSK beat KKR by 7 wickets

The Super Kings registered a dominant seven-wicket win over the Knight Riders at the Chepuk Stadium in Chennai on Monday, April 8. KKR were restricted to a paltry 139/7 in their 20 overs, thanks to a stellar bowling performance by Ravindra Jadeja and Tushar Deshpande.

Jadeja, the CSK all-rounder, was at his economical best, picking up three wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs. Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande ably supported him, bagging three wickets for 33 runs. The KKR batting line-up, in good form so far this season, faltered against the disciplined bowling attack of CSK.

In reply, CSK chased down the target comfortably with 2.6 overs to spare. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad played a match-winning knock of 67 not out off 58 deliveries, while the fan-favourite Dhoni remained unbeaten on 1 after facing 3 balls.

This win is a much-needed boost for CSK after a couple of losses in the initial matches of the season, while KKR tasted their first defeat in IPL 2024.
