In an exciting clash at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Rajasthan Royals (RR) emerged victorious against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 44 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

KL Rahul leads LSG to a competitive total

Winning the toss, Rajasthan elected to bowl first, putting the Super Giants into bat. They posted a competitive total of 196/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain KL Rahul led the charge with a scintillating knock of 76 runs off 48 deliveries, supported by Deepak Hooda‘s aggressive 50 off 31 balls. The Royals’ bowlers put up a disciplined effort, with Sandeep Sharma and Avesh Khan picking up crucial wickets.

Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel take Rajasthan home

The Royals showcased a powerful batting display in their chase, reaching the target with 7 wickets in hand and 6 balls to spare. Sanju Samson was the star of the innings, smashing 71 runs off just 33 deliveries, including 7 fours and 4 sixes. He was well-supported by Jos Buttler (34 off 18) and Dhruv Jurel (52 off 34) in a formidable batting performance. In the bowling department, the Super Giants struggled to contain the Royals’ batters, with only Marcus Stoinis managing to pick up a wicket for the Giants.
