In a surprising revelation, former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar’s past admiration for Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre has resurfaced, prompting a response from the actress herself.

During an interview, Akhtar had professed his fondness for Sonali, even going as far as jokingly stating that he would propose marriage to her, and in case of refusal, he would resort to kidnapping. This humorous yet bold statement caught the attention of many, including famous YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra, who brought it up during a recent podcast with Bendre.

Mishra highlighted Akhtar’s popularity in Pakistan and how Bendre’s name often accompanied his in various search results. Bendre, however, responded with a hint of skepticism, stating, “I don’t know how true this is, even in those times there used to be fake news.”

Further delving into the topic, Mishra referenced former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina’s candid admission of admiration for Bendre in an interview. Bendre acknowledged the blush on Raina’s face when her name was mentioned, drawing a parallel to Akhtar’s supposed feelings. She expressed gratitude for the affection but remained uncertain about the authenticity of the claims.

When quizzed if she has ever gone to watch an IPL match, Sonali responded: “Yes…in the start of the tournament. But it’s too hot out there [in the stadium] and so much noise, making quite uncomfortable to sit.”
