In the footage, he is seen wiping his sweat with England currency, causing a stir online. Cricket enthusiasts criticized Babar Azam and other members of the Pakistan team following the circulation of this video, which was initially posted on Babar’s Snapchat account.

Azam’s cricketing journey
Azam was the standout performer in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), having participated in a commendable 53 matches. Throughout his PSL journey, he showcased remarkable consistency, amassing a total of 1138 runs with an average of 23. Notably, Azam has also taken on the crucial role of wicketkeeper for his team, Islamabad United, setting a new record in the 2024 season with the highest number of dismissals (10) by a wicketkeeper.
Transitioning to the international stage, Azam made his debut in 2021 against England, primarily showcasing his skills in the shortest format of the game. Despite his limited appearances for Pakistan, totalling 11 matches, Azam has managed to leave an impact with his bat, scoring a total of 77 runs at an impressive strike rate of 154. While he continues to contribute to the team’s success, Azam is yet to achieve the milestone of scoring a half-century in international cricket.
