The T20 World Cup 2024 will be jointly hosted by the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies next month, from June 2 to June 29. The tournament will kick off with a match between the USA and Canada. Ahead of this prestigious ICC event, former players and experts are making predictions about the top four semifinalist teams. Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu has also shared his predictions regarding the four semifinalists.
Ambati Rayudu’s semifinalist prediction for T20 World Cup 2024
In a conversation with Star Sports, Rayudu revealed his picks for the semifinalists of the upcoming global showpiece event. He named India as one of the teams that will make it to the semifinals. Along with India, Rayudu predicted that New Zealand, South Africa and England would also reach the semifinals.

Performance in previous World Cup
It’s worth noting that England, under the captaincy of Jos Buttler, triumphed in the T20 World Cup 2022 hosted by Australia, defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the final to claim the trophy. Meanwhile in the same edition, New Zealand were knocked out in the semifinals by Pakistan.
South Africa, on the other hand, had a disappointing campaign, as they were eliminated by the Netherlands, a significant upset in the tournament. However, South Africa have shown improved performances in ICC events since then. With key players in good form and a change in leadership – Aiden Markram replacing Temba Bavuma as captain, the Proteas are expected to put up a strong fight this time.
India, led by Rohit Sharma, faced a humiliating exit in the last edition after losing to England by 10 wickets in the semifinals. Despite this setback, the Indian squad has seen minimal changes since then, and Rohit continues to lead the team.
