India’s warm-up fixture against Bangladesh

The warm-up game against Bangladesh is India’s only chance to finalize their playing combination before the tournament kicks off. Given its significance, fans can expect the Indian players to bring their A-game. The Indian squad, fresh off the back of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, is looking to acclimatize to the conditions and get into the rhythm of T20 cricket.

India’s recent T20I form

The Indian team arrived in New York directly after the conclusion of the IPL however Virat Kohli has not yet joined the squad as he took a short break after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were eliminated from the IPL. Consequently, Kohli is expected to miss the warm-up fixture against Bangladesh.

India have not played a T20I since their series against Afghanistan in January. Nevertheless, the IPL has provided an excellent platform for Indian players to test themselves against top international talent. The 17th season of the IPL ensured that Indian players remained in competitive form and are far from rusty. The warm-up game will be the first test of how well they can transition from IPL to international T20 cricket.
