Bollywood actress and avid cricket fan Neha Dhupia took to social media to express her disappointment after Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered yet another in the IPL 2024 – this time against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, May 3rd.

KKR restricted MI to a below-par total of 145 runs while batting first, with Suryakumar Yadav‘s knock of 56 runs being the only saving grace. Earlier, KKR themselves were bowled out for 169 runs, with Venkatesh Iyer (70) and Manish Pandey (42) being their top scorers. Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler for MI, claiming three wickets in his quota of 4 overs.

This defeat marked yet another setback for MI in their ongoing IPL 2024 campaign. The team has been plagued by inconsistency throughout the season and currently finds themselves languishing in ninth place on the points table, with their playoff hopes hanging by a thread.

Despite MI facing a loss, Neha Dhupia lauded Suryakumar Yadav for valiant effort with the bat. In her Instagram story directed at Yadav, she wrote, “@surya_14kumar…Well tried..well played @mumbaiindians,” accompanied by a broken heart emoji, reflecting her sorrow over MI’s performance.
