In the previous season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) collaborated with Tata Group to plant trees for every dot ball bowled during playoff matches. Continuing this initiative in the current year, BCCI reiterated their commitment to plant 500 trees across India for each dot ball bowled during the IPL 2024 Playoffs.

The second Qualifier, with the highest number of dot balls (80), will lead to the planting of 48,000 trees, while 40,000 trees will be planted for the 80 dot balls bowled in the final. In total, 161,500 trees will be planted this year as part of this initiative.
