A massive protest erupted in Nepal following the news that star cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane was denied a visa by the US Embassy for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

The passionate cricket fans of Nepal took to the streets of Kathmandu, expressing their disappointment and demanding immediate action to resolve the issue.

Lamichhane, a prominent figure in Nepalese cricket, was recently acquitted of rape charges by the Patan High Court. Now, his exclusion due to visa issues has sparked widespread outrage among supporters who view his presence as crucial to the team’s success.

Nepalese cricket officials have also expressed their concern over the situation and are reportedly in talks with relevant authorities to address the visa denial. They emphasized the importance of Lamichhane’s participation in the T20 World Cup and are hopeful for a positive resolution.

The 23-year-old Lamichhane was training at the TU cricket ground before getting a second chance of visa approval following coordination by the Foreign Minister with the US embassy.
