The eagerly awaited T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to kick off next month in USA and West Indies. India made history by clinching the T20 World Cup title for the first time in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Since that momentous victory, the Men in Blue have been relentlessly pursuing another triumph in this prestigious tournament. Notably, India’s journey in the tournament will begin with a match against Ireland on June 5.
A total of 20 teams will compete for the coveted Cup, divided into four groups. From these groups, the top two teams will progress to the Super Eight stage. Subsequently, the Super Eight teams will be further divided into two groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals. As the tournament draws closer, numerous former cricketers and experts have shared their predictions for the semifinalists of this global event. Joining them, Sunil Gavaskar has contributed his insights to the discussion.
