India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, recently engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Rinku Singh, who found himself excluded from the 15-player squad for the highly anticipated upcoming T20 World Cup. After addressing the media at the BCCI’s headquarters, Rohit had a chat with Rinku at the Wankhede Stadium before the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) game against KKR on Friday.
MI uploaded a video on X, showing Rinku’s smile as Rohit approached him. In the next scene, Rohit and Rinku engaged in a conversation.

Rinku’s impressive performances in IPL
Rinku burst onto the scene in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL), debuting for the KKR. He quickly established himself as an asset, amassing 848 runs in 40 matches with a remarkable strike rate of 144 and a solid average of 33. His explosive batting included 4 half-centuries and an impressive 11 not-outs, showcasing his consistency.
His impressive IPL performances paved the way for his international debut in 2023 against Ireland. Representing India in 11 innings across 15 matches, Rinku continued to shine. He amassed a staggering 356 runs with a phenomenal average of 89 and a blistering strike rate of 176, solidifying his position as a rising star in Indian cricket.
