Suresh Raina, the former Indian cricketer, expressed a genuine joy for Rinku Singh following his triumph in clinching his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, May 26.
The final showdown of IPL 2024, held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, witnessed KKR’s emphatic victory over SRH by 8 wickets, securing their third IPL title in history. The KKR effortlessly chased down the below-par target of 114 runs in just 10.3 overs, cementing their status as IPL champions once again.
Suresh Raina’s fun banter with Rinku Singh
Following KKR’s triumphant victory in the IPL 2024 final, Rinku shared his elation alongside Raina in the post-match interview, articulating that clinching the IPL title with KKR was a dream realized.
Rinku’s journey with KKR began in the 2018 season, and his meteoric rise in the league saw him emerge as the franchise’s leading run-scorer last year. He delivered numerous match-winning performances alone.
In a lively exchange with Raina, Rinku found himself fielding questions about navigating his newfound fame. Responding with characteristic modesty, Rinku’s demeanour prompted playful teasing from Raina.
“Aur abhi itne messages bahar se jo aa rahe hai usko kaise control kar rahe ho? Too much attractions from coming outside,” Raina asked Rinku, to which the left-handed replied by saying, “Nahi mai jyada dhyan nahi deta matlab.” After hearing Rinku’s reply, Raina erupted into uproarious laughter and teasingly exclaimed, “Of ho.”

Rinku’s performance in IPL 2024
Rinku’s IPL 2024 voyage has been less than stellar. Despite participating in 14 matches this season, he only managed to accumulate 168 runs across 11 innings, boasting a strike rate of 149. However, his performance lacked the fireworks expected, with a mere 8 sixes and 13 boundaries to his name. Disappointingly, he failed to notch up a single half-century.
Rinku is all set to embark on a new journey. He will join Team India as a reserve player for the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024. His departure from India is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28th.
