In response to the widespread reactions from supporters, analysts, and his fellow players, Rauf has spoken out to explain his behavior. On social media, he addressed the viral video, stating that the fan’s comment about his family was what incited his reaction.

Rauf acknowledged that as public figures, athletes are subject to both support and criticism from the public. However, he emphasized that any comments about his parents or family would provoke a strong response from him. Rauf underscored the importance of respecting individuals and their families, regardless of their profession.
“I decided to not bring this on social media, but now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” wrote Rauf on X (formerly Twitter).
