United States (USA) and South Africa are all set to lock horns in the 41st match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday. The game will take place at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. Notably, it’s the first game of the Super 8 stage of the Group 2. Both sides will be looking to open their account with a win and start their campaign on a positive note. Since the other two sides in the Group 2 are also challenging – reigning champions England and current co-hosts West Indies.

USA’s impressive run

USA have impressed one and all with their splendid performance in the tournament. They were the second team to qualify for the Super 8 after India from Group A. One of their most-impressive performance came against Pakistan where they defeated the Men in Green, which played a major role behind the elimination of the 2009 T20 World Cup champions.

South Africa, on the other hand, topped their Group (D). They won all their 4 games against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the Netherlands to stamp their authority in the multi-team competition. Though they did struggle against the Dutch and Nepal with close games but held their nerves and ended up on the winning side.
