Despite the humorous incident, Warner played a crucial role in Australia’s innings. On a difficult wicket to bat Warner steadied the Australian innings after early setbacks. Opening with Travis Head, Warner anchored the innings and forged a significant partnership with Marcus Stoinis. After Australia was reduced to 50/3, Warner and Stoinis stitched together a 100-run stand for the fifth wicket, taking the score past 150.
