Arshdeep Singh heaps praise for Ravi Bishnoi’s performance

After the emphatic series win over Sri Lanka in second T20I on Sunday, Ravi Bishnoi was named as Player of the Match for his extraordinary spell of 3/26 in 4 overs. Later on, Bishnoi was praised by his teammate Arshdeep Singh for his dedication, hard-work and most importantly his performance. While giving an interview to BCCI Arshdeep stated, “One thing about Bishnoi is that he is always in a hurry. He quickly eats his lunch, and once he gets done with his food, he is in a hurry to get back to his hotel room. So because of his nature to do everything in a hurry, he also took three wickets quickly.

Yes, that is why even my bowling run-up is fast. I have had this habit since childhood. Because of this I get hungry quickly and then eat my food also quickly. I am trying to change this habit but haven’t succeeded in it.” responded Bishnoi.

Match Summary

Suryakumar opted to field first after winning the toss, which was delayed by 45 minutes due to inclement weather. The choice paid dividends early, as Arshdeep got the first breakthrough with the scalp of Kusal Mendis in the fourth over of the powerplay. Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka steadied the Lankan innings with a 54-run stand before the latter fell prey to Bishnoi after scoring 32 runs off 24 deliveries.

Perera shared another 50-run stand with Kamindu Mendis before Hardik Pandya dismissed Mendis for 26 off 23. Bishnoi dismissed Dasun Shanaka for a golden duck, who also removed Wanindu Hasaranga for a first-ball duck, completing a three-wicket haul. The middle-order collapse continued with Charith Asalanka out for 14 off 12, and Axar Patel dismissed Maheesh Theekshana and Ramesh Mendis in the final over, restricting Sri Lanka to 161 runs.

India’s chase began with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson, who replaced Shubman Gill. They scored six runs off the first three balls before rain halted play. The target was revised to 78 in 8 overs.
