England are playing against the West Indies in the second Test of the three-match series at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The hosts are coming off a sensational win in the first Test at Lord’s, where they won by an innings and 114 runs. They aim to secure another win to take over the series.

Ben Duckett shows his class

West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that initially paid off as Zak Crawley was dismissed for a duck in the opening over by Alzarri Joseph. It appeared from thereon that the Windies bowlers would tighten the screw more. However, Ben Duckett had some other plans as he launched a counter-attack that shifted the momentum.

Duckett kicked off the proceedings right from the word go. He took Jayden Seales to the cleaners in the second over of England’s innings, dispatching the bowler for 4 consecutive boundaries and collecting 19 runs, including an extra.

Continuing with his aggressive approach, Duckett helped England race past 50 runs in just 4.2 overs, setting a new record for the fastest team fifty in Test history. In the 10th over, Duckett reached his half-century off just 32 balls, becoming the fourth fastest English batter to do so in Test cricket.

Shamar went for a bowled a full delivery just outside off, which Duckett attempted to drive through the line. The ball nipped away slightly off the deck, catching a thick outside edge. The red leather traveled quickly and low to the slip cordon, where Holder took a remarkable catch.
