Following the thrilling conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2024, cricket fans have another exciting event to look forward to: the second season of Major League Cricket (MLC), the premier T20 league in the United States, which kicks off on July 5.

MI New York to face Seattle Orcas in the tournament opener

The opening match will feature a showdown between the defending champions MI New York and the Seattle Orcas in Morrisville. Later that evening, the Texas Super Kings will face off against the LA Knight Riders at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.

Last month, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted MLC ‘List A’ status, elevating it to the same level as the Indian Premier League (IPL) and other top-tier franchise competitions.

Familiar stars to entertain fans

Many prominent cricketers are set to take part in the upcoming edition of the MLC. Fans can look forward to seeing stars such as Pat Cummins, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Lungi Ngidi, Andre Russell, David Miller, Faf du Plessis, Marcus Stoinis, Rachin Ravindra, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, Shimron Hetmyer, and Quinton de Kock.
