This development comes on the heels of Rohit Sharma‘s announcement of his retirement from the shortest format after leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024. Suryakumar is seen as Rohit’s natural successor because of his potent batting approach and demonstrated leadership abilities.
Meanwhile, several World Cup-winning stars, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rohit, alongside star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, are set to be rested for the upcoming Sri Lanka series.
SKY has done it before
In a separate incident, SKY’s ‘heartbreaking‘ Instagram story days before IPL 2024 has sparked a debate among the Mumbai Indians fans. Taking to Instagram before MI entered a new era under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, the premier batter shared a post with a heartbreak emoji through Stories.
As the cricketing world eagerly awaits Surya’s return to the field, his recent Instagram story has undoubtedly added fuel to the fire, sparking speculation and excitement among fans and experts alike.
