Adam Zampa's magical delivery

In a match where bowlers ruled the day, the Oval Invincibles clinched their second consecutive victory, triumphing over the Welsh Fire by ten runs in a thrilling contest in Cardiff. Despite setting a modest target of 113 for 9, the Invincibles’ exceptional bowling attack proved too strong for the Fire.

The hosts always looked like they needed to reach the target. Leg-spinners Nathan Sowter (2 for 12) and Adam Zampa (3 for 24) were the standout performers for the defending champions. Zampa, in particular, was instrumental and earned his second  match hero award in as many games.

Adam Zampa’s magical delivery removes Tom Kohler-Cadmore

Tom Kohler-Cadmore, expecting a middle and leg-length ball to slide on, hanged back to clip it away. However, the delivery by Zampa was bowled flatter than anticipated, catching him off guard. The Ball cuts back sharply, going past his edge and crashing into the middle stump.

Oval Invincibles beat Welsh fire by 10 runs

Defending a total of 113 was always going to be challenging for the Invincibles, and it became even tougher when Harrison Ward dropped Jonny Bairstow on four off Saqib Mahmood‘s bowling. However, Ward’s luck ran out as Australian Spencer Johnson dismissed Bairstow a few balls later. After Curran struck early by dismissing Joe Clarke with the first Ball of his spell, the Invincibles’ spinners took charge.

Zampa continued his impressive form, taking the wickets of Tom Abell, Tom (22), and David Willey, while Sowter removed Glenn Phillips and Luke Wells. David Payne (28) and Mason Crane provided a late surge, bringing the game down to the final few balls, but Sam Curran maintained his composure to secure the victory.
