In a jubilant celebration that reverberated across the nation, India marked their triumphant return after clinching the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 with a spectacular reception at the ITC Hotel in Delhi. Amidst a sea of cheers and waving flags, the victorious Indian cricket team, led by captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid, gathered to commemorate their historic achievement.
Triumphant return: India celebrates T20 World Cup 2024 victory at the ITC Hotel
The festivities kicked off with the cutting of a specially designed cake that resembled the coveted T20 World Cup trophy. Crafted with meticulous detail, the cake featured four layers symbolising the colours of India’s T20 jersey – white, orange, and blue – accented with the emblem of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and adorned with cricketing images that captured key moments of the tournament. Atop the cake stood a miniature replica of the trophy itself, a fitting tribute to India’s hard-earned victory on the global stage.
The ceremony reached its crescendo when head coach Rahul, captain Rohit, batter maestro Virat Kohli and vice-captain Hardik Pandya stepped forward to ceremoniously cut the cake. The chants of “India! India!” reverberated through the halls of ITC Maurya, echoing the collective jubilation and national pride that this victory had ignited.
