Ravi Bishnoi took a stunning catch to add to Zimbabwe’s woes in the third T20I against India at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday (July 10). The incident occurred during the fourth over of Zimbabwe’s innings when they were trying to rebuild after the cheap dismissals of Wessly Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani. Zimbabwe’s top order was under significant pressure, and the team desperately needed to stabilize their innings. However, the Indian bowling attack maintained relentless pressure, ensuring the hosts found no respite.
A masterstroke by Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill‘s decision to bring Avesh Khan for his second over proved to be a masterstroke. The speedster’s disciplined line and length created opportunities for the Indian side. Brian Bennett, who walked in to bat with the responsibility of steadying the ship, faced the challenge head-on. But Avesh, known for his ability to generate pace and bounce, made an immediate impact. The key moment arrived when Bennett, in an attempt to counter Avesh’s pace, slashed hard at a length ball outside off stump. The ball played uppishly, seemed destined for the boundary, heading swiftly towards the deep point fence.

He leaped high into the air, perfectly timing his jump, and with both hands outstretched, he plucked the ball from the air. The catch was nothing short of miraculous, showcasing Bishnoi’s remarkable reflexes and agility. His teammates, recognizing the significance of the dismissal, rushed towards him in jubilation. The stunning catch reduced Zimbabwe to 19/3, deepening their struggles in the match and marking a pivotal moment in the series.
