India wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi demonstrated his exceptional fielding skills with a stunning run out in the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe on Saturday (July 13) at Harare Sports Club.

Bishnoi’s brilliant direct hit resulted in the dismissal of Johnathan Campbell in the 15th over of Zimbabwe’s innings.

The game-changing moment: Ravi Bishnoi’s brilliant fielding

On the fourth ball of the over, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza failed to read Bishnoi’s wrong-un and managed to push it towards short mid-wicket. Seeing no fielder in the vicinity, both batters decided to run for a quick single. However, Bishnoi was quick to react, sprinting to collect the ball and delivering a direct hit at the non-striker’s end. The direct hit was so precise that it caught Campbell short of the crease by a significant margin, forcing him to return to the pavilion for just 3 runs off 3 balls. This crucial run out left Zimbabwe struggling at 96/4 and shifted the momentum in India’s favour.

India’s dominant chase

Despite not picking up any wickets, Bishnoi bowled an economical spell, conceding only 22 runs in his four overs. His fielding and economical bowling significantly contributed to India’s control over the game. Zimbabwe, after being put in to bat first, posted a decent total of 152/7 in 20 overs, with Raza top-scoring with 46 off 28 balls. Nevertheless, the target proved insufficient against the strong Indian batting lineup.

India’s chase was spearheaded by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. Jaiswal’s explosive 93* off 53 balls and Gill’s steady 58* off 39 balls ensured India comfortably chased down the target in just 15.2 overs, winning the match by ten wickets. This victory gave India an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series, with one game remaining to be played on Sunday (July 14).
