Zimbabwe and India are facing each other in the fourth T20I at Harare Sports Club on Saturday. After winning the toss, India chose to bowl, a decision that initially proved advantageous for the hosts during the early stages of Zimbabwe’s innings.
Strong start by Zimbabwe openers
Zimbabwe’s openers, Wessly Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani, gave their team an excellent start. The pair kept the Indian bowlers at bay and dominated the powerplay, showcasing their skills and accumulating 63 runs together. Just as they were looking to build on their partnership, Indian all-rounder Abhishek Sharma disrupted their momentum by taking the first wicket.
Abhishek Sharma bags maiden wicket
On he fourth ball of the ninth over of Zimbabwe’s innings, Abhishek bowled an 81kph delivery that spun in from a shortish length. Marumani recognized the length and moved back to pull it over midwicket. However, the ball didn’t travel far, and Rinku Singh, positioned well in front of the boundary rope, took an easy catch.
