Zimbabwe have announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming one-off Test against Ireland, marking their first Test encounter with the opposition. This will also be Zimbabwe’s first Test since their two-match series against the West Indies at home in February last year, which they lost 1-0.
Experienced core and fresh talent
Craig Ervine will lead the team, bringing his extensive experience alongside seasoned players such as Sean Williams, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava. This experienced core is expected to provide stability and guidance to the squad.
In an exciting move, Zimbabwe hasveincluded four uncapped players in the squad: wicketkeeper-batters Clive Madande and Joylord Gumbie, and all-rounders Brian Bennett and Johnathan Campbell. Their inclusion highlights the team’s strategy to blend seasoned players with fresh talent.
The one-off Test match will take place from July 25 to 29 at Stormont in Belfast, Ireland. This historic match is anticipated to be a significant event for both teams.
