Cricket fans are gearing up for an exciting Test series as Pakistan are set to host Bangladesh for a two-match battle. With both teams having talented players, this series is expected to be a thrilling contest. Pakistan, known for its strong home record, will be looking to continue its dominance, while Bangladesh are determined to challenge the hosts with their young and dynamic squad. As both teams prepare, anticipation is growing among fans, who are eager to witness a gripping battle between bat and ball on the challenging pitches of Pakistan.
Shoriful Islam names his dream wicket
Bangladesh’s young pacer Shoriful Islam has his sights set on dismissing one of the world’s finest batters, Babar Azam. Shoriful, who considers Babar his ‘dream wicket,’ acknowledges the challenge of bowling to him, especially on his home turf. Having played alongside Babar in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Shoriful knows the caliber of the Pakistani captain both as a player and as a person. Taking Babar’s wicket would not only be a personal milestone for Shoriful but also a significant achievement for Bangladesh in their bid to compete against Pakistan’s formidable batting lineup.
“Babar and Shan Masood are world-class batters. But our bowling attack is also strong enough. We can put up a strong fight against them. Our task will be difficult as they play in their home ground. We have to stay prepared. Babar is a tough challenge for Bangladesh. So, we have to take his wicket quickly. He is also my dream wicket. I will be very happy if I can get his wicket. I played with him last year in the CPL. He is a very good person,” said Shoriful as quoted by cricketpakistan.pk.
Shoriful remains optimistic about the surface in the first Test
As preparations for the series progress, Shoriful has expressed optimism about the conditions for the first Test. He mentioned hearing that patches of grass could be present on the pitch, which would offer assistance to fast bowlers through seam movement. For Shoriful and the Bangladesh pace attack, such conditions could be advantageous, allowing them to challenge Pakistan’s batters with early movement. However, the young bowler also emphasized the need for mental and physical preparation to adapt to the demands of Test cricket, confident that with enough practice, he will be ready to deliver in the series.
“I’ve heard there’s expected to be patches of grass on the pitch, though I haven’t seen it myself yet. Every fast bowler likes that because it offers seam movement. So, if that’s the case, it’s definitely a good thing. Test cricket requires a different kind of preparation, mentally and physically. But we still have some time before the match, and I believe that by the 21st, with more practice sessions, my fitness and bowling will be well-suited for red-ball cricket,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi fans are hopeful that their team can put up a strong fight against the hosts and that young talents like Shoriful will step up in crucial moments.
