The Netherlands, the United States of America (USA), and Canada will compete in a tri-nation T20I series, building on the momentum from their recent ODI series.
T20I tri-series overview
The T20I tri-series will commence on August 23, with the first four matches taking place in Utrecht before the teams move to The Hague for the final two games. The series will follow a round-robin format, where each team will face the others twice. Points will be awarded for each win, and the team with the most points, followed by the best net run rate, will be declared the winner. Notably, there will be no final match to determine the champion.
Teams and leadership
- Netherlands: Scott Edwards will continue his role as captain, leading the team as the highest-ranked side in the tournament, currently placed 15th in the ICC T20I rankings.
- USA: Monank Patel will lead the American side, buoyed by their strong performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they reached the Super Eights. The USA is currently ranked 18th in the ICC T20I rankings.
- Canada: Nicholas Kirton has been named captain of Canada, who are ranked 23rd in the ICC T20I rankings and are yet to secure a win on this tour.

The tri-series will take place at two venues in the Netherlands:
- Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd, Utrecht: The first four matches (August 23-26).
- Sportpark Duivesteijn, Voorburg: The final two matches (August 27-28).

Form and expectations
The Netherlands will enter the series as clear favorites, having won all their matches in the preceding ODI tri-series, which was part of the qualification process for the next men’s Cricket World Cup. The USA defeated Canada twice in that series, leaving Canada winless thus far. With the Netherlands being the highest-ranked team in the tournament, they are expected to continue their strong form.
