She further said if the athletes may get best facilities then surely there will be promotion of sports as well participation from youth.
Nehwal also mentioned about salary issues that the players from other sports are not being paid highly on comparison with other nation players like Australians are being paid. The medical facility is also another reason which is given the best treatment in cricket.
Saina earlier also criticised the system for not promoting other sports as cricket during podcast of Nikhil Vijayendra Simha after which the Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) rising cricketer Angkrish Raghuvanshi stated aggressive comment on Saina facing of Jasprit Bumrah’s bouncer on head. Responding to KKR’s player, Saina replied, that nobody wants to face the deadly bouncer of Jasprit Bumrah why would she face it. Every sports personality has speciality in his/her sports, maybe Bumrah won’t be able to face her smash of 300km/hr.
“Few were saying I cannot survive Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling. Why would I face him anyway, I love my life. Also if Bumrah plays Badminton with me, he might not be able to survive my smash,” said Nehwal.
