In an exhilarating fourth match of the third edition of the Maharaja Trophy T20, 18-year-old Samit Dravid, son of legendary cricketer and former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid, showcased his burgeoning talent with a remarkable six that had the crowd on their feet.

Samit Dravid launches a stunning six

The young cricketer from Mysore Warriors made an impact in the 7th over of the first innings, smashing a short delivery from Naveen MG of Bengaluru Blasters over the deep mid-wicket boundary for a six.

This powerful shot showcased Samit’s cricketing talent and hinted at his potential to follow in his father’s illustrious footsteps. However, his innings were short-lived as he was dismissed soon after, finishing with 7 runs off 7 balls, including that one impressive six.

Bengaluru Blasters secure victory against Mysore Warriors

The rain-shortened encounter, which was reduced to 18 overs per side, saw the Mysore post a competitive total of 182/6. The highlight of their innings was a resilient half-century from Manoj Bhandage, who struck 58 runs, laced with 5 fours and 3 sixes. However, Bengaluru Blasters’ bowler Gneshwar Naveen was the star with the ball, claiming 4 crucial wickets to keep the Warriors within reach.

In response, the Bengaluru Blasters chased down the target with impressive composure, reaching 183/6 in 17.1 overs. The chase was anchored by a scintillating knock from Bhuvan Raju, who blazed his way to 51 runs off just 24 balls, including a single four and a stunning six sixes, at a staggering strike rate of 212.5. His aggressive innings kept the Blasters ahead of the required rate, though his dismissal via a run-out in the 11th over added some tension to the chase.

Ultimately, the Blasters secured a thrilling 4-wicket victory, with Bhuvan deservedly named the Player of the Match for his explosive performance that tilted the game in his team’s favor.
