The match saw a thrilling moment on the 38th delivery of the Ovals’ innings bowled by Manchester bowler Sikandar Raza to opening batter of Ovals’ Will Jacks, the batter tried to add power, sent the ball skyward but found himself caught by Wayne Madsen mid-way. Madsen plucked the flying catch with his agility to dismiss Jacks. This extraordinary effort from Madsen have put the Ovals’ in a challenging position.

Despite the fall of wickets at short intervals, Ovals’ were comfortable to post the total of 164/8 in the allotted 100 balls. Sam Curran‘s overall performance was notable. As he scored 68/38 with 2 fours and 6 sixes with the bat and took 2 crucial wickets from 15 balls giving just 16 runs. Apart from Curran’s knock Sam Billings played blistering cameo of 24 off 12 with 2 sixes and a boundary.
In response, Manchesters started with a good opening partnership of 89 runs between Philip Salt and Matthew Hurst, before the former was sent back by Adam Zampa on the 50th delivery of Manchesters innings. Zampa broke the big opening stand as he delivered the slide off stump ball, in response Salt tried to go for big smear across the line but missed it.
