South Africa ended Day 2 of the first Test against West Indies in a strong position, reaching 344-8 thanks to impressive performances from Temba Bavuma and Tony de Zorzi.

Tony de Zorzi shines in the opening session

Tony de Zorzi, the young South African opener, played a crucial role in setting the tone for the day’s play at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. He scored a well-constructed 78 runs before being dismissed just before the lunch break. De Zorzi’s innings was marked by his ability to leave deliveries outside the off-stump and rotate the strike effectively.

Temba Bavuma anchors the innings

South African captain Temba Bavuma played a gritty and determined innings, scoring 86 runs to anchor the team’s batting effort. Bavuma’s knock was characterized by his solid defense and judicious shot selection. Rain disrupts play on Day 1

The match was affected by rain on Day 1, with only 27.4 overs being bowled. This meant that a total of 98 overs were bowled on Day 2, providing both teams with ample opportunities to make their mark on the game.
