On the cricketing front, Shreyas Iyer came out to bat wearing sunglasses in the ongoing Duleep Trophy match between India A and India D. Iyer, who is captaining the D-team, failed to impressed as he had to depart without scoring after facing seven balls.

In the first match of the 2024-25 Duleep Trophy, Iyer scored 9 and 54 in his two innings. His underwhelming performance with the bat led to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) overlooking him for the opening Test of the two-match series against Bangladesh. While the BCCI is yet to announce the squad for the second Test against the Bangla Tigers, it appears that Iyer hasn’t significantly boosted his chances of selection.
