In a one-sided affair at Stormont, England Women secured a comprehensive 275-run win over Ireland Women in the second ODI of their three-match series. Experienced opener Tammy Beaumont starred with an unbeaten 150, her 10th ODI century, to power England to a mammoth 320/8 in their 50 overs.
Tammy Beaumont shines with record-breaking ton
Beaumont’s brilliant knock came off just 139 balls and included 16 fours and a solitary six. She became the first Englishwoman to score 10 ODI centuries, surpassing the likes of Nat Sciver-Brunt and Charlotte Edwards. Her innings was the foundation for England’s imposing total after they elected to bat first upon winning the toss.
Freya Kemp provided able support with a 47-ball 65, which included 7 fours and 2 sixes. The 19-year-old all-rounder has been in fine form and her innings showcased her talent and potential.
The young Irish team, with three bowlers under 19, struggled to cope with the pressure exerted by the experienced England attack.
Ireland bowled out for paltry 45
Chasing an improbable target, Ireland’s batting lineup crumbled under the pressure. They were bowled out for a paltry 45 in just 16.5 overs, their lowest ever ODI total. Kate Cross and Lauren Filer were the chief architects of Ireland’s downfall, both picking up 3 wickets each.
Cross struck early blows, removing captain Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter in her first over. Filer then joined the party, dismissing Leah Paul and Arlene Kelly cheaply. Davis and Kemp also chipped in with 2 wickets each as Ireland’s batters failed to put up any resistance.
Una Raymond-Hoey‘s 22 was the only score of note for Ireland, as the rest of the lineup crumbled around her.

England seal series with a game to spare
The victory, England’s biggest in women’s ODIs in terms of runs, sealed the series for the visitors with a game to spare. It was a largely second-string England team that achieved this result, with the majority of the T20 World Cup squad rested.
Tammy Beaumont was adjudged the Player of the Match for her brilliant century. The third and last match of the series will be played on Wednesday at the same venue, with Ireland looking to salvage some pride and England aiming to complete a whitewash.
Comfortable win for England 👏🏏
