In a nail-biting encounter at the Caribbean Premier League 2024, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons clinched a 6-run victory against the Trinbago Knight Riders.
The match reached a fever pitch in the 10th over of the second innings when Fabian Allen produced a moment of sheer brilliance. The stadium erupted as Allen dismissed Trinbago’s star batter, Nicholas Pooran, for a golden duck with a jaw-dropping caught-and-bowled effort. Known for his superb fielding, Allen again demonstrated his athleticism and presence of mind, turning the game on its head.
Fabian Allen’s stunning caught-and-bowled dismissal
Bowling what seemed to be a mistimed slot ball intended to be a yorker, Allen watched Pooran smashing it back hard and flat. Reacting with lightning speed, Allen initially palmed the ball with his right hand in a desperate attempt, but as it rebounded, he recovered quickly, regaining control and completing the catch with both hands. Pooran stood in disbelief, and Allen, fired up by his stunning reflexes, celebrated with his teammates as the crowd roared in approval.
