Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced the ODI squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh, highlighting the return of talented left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad. This announcement comes as both teams gear up for the three-match ODI series, which is set to be played from November 6 to 11 at the Dubai International Stadium in UAE.
Sediqullah Atal receives maiden call-up
Uncapped top-order batter Sediqullah Atal has been included in the 19-member squad following his impressive performance in the ongoing Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024.
Meanwhile, the Afghans will continue to be without the services of key players like Ibrahim Zadran and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Zadran is recovering from ankle surgery, while Mujeeb is still dealing with a right phalanx sprain.
“Ibrahim Zadran is currently undergoing rehabilitation and continues to recover from the surgery he recently had. Mujeeb Ur Rahman also remains unavailable due to ongoing treatment. However, Noor Ahmad is back in the squad, and we have included a promising top-order batter in Sediqullah Atal, who has impressed everyone with his consistent top performances,” ACB Chief Selector Ahmad Shah Sulimankhil said in his official statement.
