In a thrilling encounter during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, David Miller’s explosive batting overshadowed Nicholas Pooran’s masterclass, leading the Barbados Royals (BR) to a stunning nine-wicket victory over the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the eliminator match held at Providence Stadium, Guyana, on Tuesday, October 1.

With the match reduced to a five-over chase due to floodlight failure, the Royals were set a target of 60 runs. Despite losing Quinton de Kock early in the innings, Miller entered the fray and unleashed a breathtaking display of power hitting. He scored a blistering 50 not out off just 17 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 3 fours. His aggressive approach made light work of the modest target, and he finished the chase with four balls to spare.

Miller’s knock was characterized by his ability to find gaps and clear the boundary with ease. He quickly established dominance over TKR’s bowlers, particularly targeting Sunil Narine and Chris Jordan.
