South Africa have announced a strong 16-member squad for the upcoming four-match T20I series against India, starting on November 8.

David Warner, Heinrich Klaasen return; Kagiso Rabada rested

Aiden Markram will lead the Proteas, with a formidable batting lineup that includes the return of power-hitters David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen. The bowling attack will be led by experienced campaigners like Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jansen, while emerging talents like Mihlali Mpongwana and Andile Simelane will add depth to the squad.

Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been rested for the series, while Lungi Ngidi will join the squad for the third and fourth T20Is.

South Africa’s white-ball coach, Rob Walter, has expressed his excitement about the series and the opportunity to build towards the 2026 T20 World Cup.

“It’s both an exciting and important series for us as we continue to build towards the T20 World Cup in 2026,” Walter said in an official statement.

“The squad has a nice mix of youth and experience, and I am looking forward to seeing us deliver some quality performances against a very attacking Indian T20 outfit.”

  • 4th T20I – Friday, November 15 in Johannesburg
