Zimbabwe have achieved a remarkable milestone by scoring 344 runs against Gambia, establishing a new world record for the highest team total in T20 International cricket.
Zimbabwe breaks Nepal’s record
This match took place during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group B in Nairobi on Wednesday, October 23. Sikandar Raza was the standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 133 runs off just 43 balls, which included 15 sixes and 7 fours. In reply to Zimbabwe’s mammoth total, Gambia could manage only 54 runs as they were bundled out inside 15 overs. Richard Ngarava (3/13) and Brandon Mavuta (3/10) picked three wickets each while Wessly Madhevere claimed two scalps.
Prior to Zimbabwe’s achievement, Nepal held the record with a score of 314/3 against Mongolia on September 27, 2023. This match was part of the Asian Games Men’s Cricket Competition and showcased Nepal’s growing prowess in T20 cricket.

Meanwhile, India recently recorded a total of 297/6 against Bangladesh on October 12, making it the highest score for a full-member nation at that time.
