Mitchell Santner, who had never taken more than three wickets in an innings or six in a match, led New Zealand to a historic victory in Pune with remarkable match figures of 13 for 157. In the second innings, he bowled 29 consecutive overs, claiming six wickets, following his unbroken 19.3-over spell in the first innings, where he took 7 for 53. This performance secured New Zealand’s first-ever series win in India and handed India their first home series defeat since 2012.
