During the second Test match between India and New Zealand in Pune, Virat Kohli faced significant backlash after being bowled out on a low full-toss delivery from Mitchell Santner.

Virat Kohli completely misses the ball

Kohli’s wicket came during a crucial phase of the innings when India were looking to stabilize after an early loss. As he faced Santner, Kohli attempted to play an aggressive shot across the line but completely missed the ball, which crashed into the middle stump. This rare lapse in judgment left fans in shock, as Kohli is typically renowned for his batting prowess and consistency

Kohli, known for his impeccable technique, misjudged the delivery, resulting in his dismissal for just 1 run off 9 balls.

Fans slam Kohli after his uncharacteristic dismissal

Following the dismissal, social media erupted in anger. Many fans expressed their disbelief over Kohli’s shot selection, labelling it reckless and uncharacteristic. Comments flooded in, with some users questioning how a player of Kohli’s caliber could make such a mistake, while some even asked him to retire from Test cricket.

In the first Test of the three-match series against New Zealand, Kohli scored 0 and 70. India lost the match played in Bengaluru by eight wickets.
