In the 13th match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, West Indies off-spinner Karishma Ramharack delivered a stunning performance, guiding her team to an 8-wicket victory over Bangladesh. In the 6th over, Ramharack struck again by bowling out Dilara Akter. Ramharack lured the batter into a sweeping shot, and Dilara, tempted by field placements, exposed her stumps. Ramharack didn’t miss, and the leg stump was rattled, ending Dilara’s stay at the crease.
Sobhana Mostary was Ramharack’s third victim, as the bowler cleverly outfoxed her with a short, wide delivery in the 13th over. Mostary, attempting a big slog, left her crease too early and was effortlessly stumped by Campbelle.
Ramharack’s final wicket came in the 19th over, with Ritu Moni mistiming a slog and being caught brilliantly by Chinelle Henry at deep mid-wicket.

Batting first, Bangladesh struggled to build partnerships and could only manage 103 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Nigar Sultana was the lone bright spot for Bangladesh, top scoring with 39 runs off 44 balls. Despite her efforts, Bangladesh’s batters found it difficult to counter the disciplined bowling attack of the West Indies, particularly the match-defining spell from Ramharack.
In reply, the West Indies chased down the set target with ease, scoring 104/2 in just 12.5 overs. Skipper Matthews led from the front, top scoring with a quickfire 34 off 22 balls, including six boundaries. She was well-supported by Stafanie Taylor, who ensured there were no further hiccups in the chase.
The Caribbeans showcased their all-round superiority, with both their bowling and batting clicking together. The eight-wicket victory bolstered their standings in the tournament, and Ramharack’s game-changing spell was the highlight of the match.
