In a thrilling encounter at the ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, India A triumphed over Pakistan A by a narrow margin of seven runs. The match, held at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground on Saturday (October 19), featured a standout moment when Ramandeep Singh executed a stunning catch to dismiss Yasir Khan, a pivotal moment that shifted the momentum in favour of India A.
Ramandeep Singh grabs a stunner
On the first ball of the ninth over, Pakistani opener Yasir Khan flicked a shot that seemed destined for the boundary. However, Ramandeep, positioned at mid-wicket, covered significant ground and leaped to his right to pull off a stunning one-handed diving catch. The Indian players erupted in celebration at Ramandeep’s remarkable effort, and he too reveled in the moment.
Yasir, who was well-set at the crease, had scored 33 runs before spinner Nishant Sandhu managed to dismiss him.

Yasir’s dismissal put immense pressure on the middle-order, and despite a valiant effort from Arafat Minhas and a brief cameo by Abdul Samad, the team struggled to regain control. India A’s bowling attack, spearheaded by right-arm pacer Anshul Kamboj, was equally formidable. Kamboj delivered an outstanding performance, taking 3 wickets for 33 runs in his 4 overs, preventing Pakistan A from building any momentum. His consistent breakthroughs dashed their hopes of a comeback, securing a 7-run victory for India A.
Buoyed by this hard-fought win against their arch-rivals, the Tilak Verma-led Indian team will now turn focus to its next group-stage match against the UAE on Monday, October 21.
