India posts a mammoth total
Earlier in the match, India’s top-order delivered a batting masterclass after being asked to bat first. They posted a massive total of 221/9 in 20 overs, with young star Nitish Reddy leading the charge. Reddy played a sensational knock of 74 runs from just 34 balls, featuring 4 boundaries and 7 towering sixes. His aggressive stroke play and ability to find the boundary at will kept Bangladesh on the back foot.
Rinku Singh also played a vital role, smashing a quickfire 53 off 29 balls, and together with Reddy, powered India to an imposing total. Despite a few wickets falling in quick succession towards the end of the innings, India’s top-order brilliance ensured a competitive total on the board.

Bangladesh struggles to chase as India seals victory
Chasing 222 was always going to be a tough task for Bangladesh, and their innings never truly gathered momentum. The Indian bowlers, led by Varun Chakaravarthy (2/19) and Reddy (2/23), kept things tight and consistently picked up wickets, leaving Bangladesh’s batting lineup in tatters.
Mahmudullah was the only batter who looked set to challenge India’s bowlers, but his dismissal by Reddy put an end to any hopes of a comeback. Bangladesh eventually limped to 135/9 in their 20 overs, falling short by a massive 86 runs.
