On the third ball of the 10th over, Shukla delivered a deceptive off-spinner that seemed harmless at first glance, drifting far outside the off-stump. However, after pitching, the ball spun sharply back into the right-hander, catching Nurse completely by surprise.
His bat, positioned well outside the off-stump in anticipation of the original trajectory, missed the ball entirely as it swerved in viciously. India Capitals’ batting collapse
Earlier, the Capitals, after opting to bat, struggled right from the start as Hyderabad’s disciplined bowling attack dismantled their lineup. Capitals could only muster 88 runs in 14.4 overs, as none of the batters apart from Colin de Grandhomme managed to settle in. Dwayne Smith’s early departure for just 3 runs set the tone for a series of collapses. Dhruv Raval’s 18 and De Grandhomme ‘s explosive 36 off 19 were the only notable contributions, but even these weren’t enough to build any substantial partnerships. Shukla, along with Ravi Jangid, exploited the conditions perfectly, with Jangid grabbing 3/14 and Shukla finishing with 3/13, leading the Hyderabad attack. Gurkeerat Singh added to the woes of the Capitals by chipping in with two crucial wickets.

Chasing a modest total of 89, Hyderabad never looked in serious trouble. Despite a few hiccups, they maintained a steady scoring rate throughout their innings. Chadwick Walton fell early for 5, bowled by Avinash Yadav, and George Worker’s fluent 27 off 21 balls kept the scoreboard ticking before he was trapped lbw by Nurse. Peter Trego chipped in with a quickfire 19 off 10 balls, setting up the chase. Hyderabad skipper Gurkeerat played a captain’s knock, scoring an unbeaten 22 off 13 balls, steering his side to a seven-wicket victory in 11.3 overs.
