As excitement around the newly released Singham Again continues to soar, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Rohit Shetty recently shared their passion for cricket during an engaging episode of The Ranveer Show podcast. When asked about his favorite cricketer, Ajay surprised many by naming MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. The veteran actor expressed deep respect for both players, emphasizing their leadership qualities and calm demeanour on the field.

Rohit Shetty’s admiration for strategic mindset
Rohit echoed similar sentiments, declaring Dhoni as his all-time favourite cricketer. He praised Dhoni not just for his cricketing skills but also for his resilience and strategic mindset.
“For me, it’s MS Dhoni. As a captain, you learn from him. The attitude – till the last ball he doesn’t give up. It’s not just the game – how he plans things, his attitude. I think that’s something you learn more than anything. Obviously, you are a fan of him, but more than fan, it’s like you get inspired by him. You can understand the moves when you are watching a match or his interviews or when people talk about it. He delivers high-level performance while being calm,” Rohit remarked, highlighting how Dhoni’s calmness under pressure serves as an inspiration both on and off the field. He emphasized that Dhoni’s ability to maintain composure until the last ball is a lesson in determination and planning that transcends the game itself.
The current cricket landscape of India
While both Ajay and Rohit celebrate these cricketing icons, the current state of Indian cricket raises questions. The Indian captain faced criticism following a disappointing series against New Zealand, which has sparked discussions about his future performances. As India prepare for a crucial tour of Australia, fans are eager to see if these star players can reclaim their form and lead the team to victory after a challenging home series.
